Crane
A machine or device, usually with a swinging arm, used in moving heavy objects by means of cables attached to a movable boom.
Crane Scales
Scale system that is used for weighing during lifting, force control and testing and load control and testing. Measures the amount of mass carried by a crane usually during manufacturing processes.
Crane Scale with Wireless Indicator
Scale system that is used for weighing during lifting and force control, which includes a small wireless device that provides a precise indication of the weight being lifted or measured.
Digital Crane Scale
Scale system used for weighing and lifting using an indicator that represents the mass amount of the measured physical object as a series of electronic digits.
Dynamometer
An instrument used to measure the strain of the pull; used in manufacturing and construction.
Hanging Scale
A measuring instrument like a crane scale; acronym for a crane scale that measures a hanging physical object.
Hook
A mechanical device that is curved to suspend, hold or pull a physical object.
Indicator
A quantitative device that provides a simple and reliable basis for assessing performance or change.
Load cell
A force transducer that measures forces, weight or torques; Come in various capacities, usually ranging from 5 kN to 100 kN (Kilo Newtons).
Overload
An increase in offered load beyond the capacity.
Overload Detector
A device in a sensor system that detects a load beyond the capacity.
Shackle
A "U" shaped connector with a bolt or pin across the open end. In industry, shackles are usually made of metal. When using crane scales, shackles are required for lifting more than 20,000 lbs or measuring horizontal force in tie-down, towing, suspension or side-loading applications.
Scale
A measuring instrument for weighing the amount of mass of a physical object.
Wireless
Describing systems that use the radio-frequency spectrum or microwave network to transmit data signals through the air without a physical connection, such as a metal wire or cable.
A leading manufacturer of crane scales, load cells, dynamometers and overload detectors.
